Our History in Mexico

We have been visiting Mexico since 1996. Our relationship with Mexico is both business and personal in ways that are difficult to separate. We began by going in person to recruit workers for our business and now have enduring friendships with people who have worked for us, made us good profits, and welcomed us into their lives like long lost kin.

We have seen towns drill wells, pave dirt streets, offer internet and good services that make lives better. We have seen government corruption reduced, but social corruption deepened and more violent. We have buried a dear friend. We have seen mountains burned by greed and replanted with love.

In our years of travel, we have seen that country change in profound ways. They have a freeway system that is smooth to travel and the stereotype of battered buses crammed with people and chickens has almost disappeared. Although piglets still roam some villages. The men that have worked for our company have been hard working working, mostly honest people wanting only to go home as winners and see the smiles of their children. I can say that we have to go to increasingly remote areas to recruit men who have a strong work ethic and tie to the land, like our own fathers had.

The various experiences included in this Mexican area of our website will reflect these complexly interwoven issues.
